  2. Just added to the Alphabet Press SPX guide:

    Kaijuphabet
    Black & White
    28 pages
    $2.00

Kaijuphabet is a collection of alphabetical illustrations of Japanese movie monsters originally created for the online drawing project, AlphaBeasts. This mini will help you learn your ABC’s while preparing you to identify the next rubbery behemoth to rise from the ocean and destroy your city!

Alphabet Press is at table G13 at SPX. See you there!

  3. f’n you’re going to SPX this year, be sure to stop by the Alphabet Press table (G13). Here’s a bunch of stuff that’ll be there for sale from a lot of the Animal Alphabet, AlphaBeasts, and AlphaBooks folks you probably already know. And here’s a big blog post showing a lot of the books and prints we’ll have at the table:

  4. I got a few mockup books printed of the whole Oyster War story. It starts with all the finished pages, then a chapter of lettered thumbnails, then finishes out the story in prose. I’m hoping I can put them in the hands of a few potential publishers at SPX next weekend.

I’m really impressed with the print quality. I generally have pretty low expectations of P.O.D. color printing, but this looks really good. I used CreateSpace.

  5. Yep, down on that lower map, you can see where I’ll be hanging out at SPX. That’s the Alphabet Press table where we’ll be selling tons of minis from lots of the artists who’ve participated in the various alpha-projects. Come by!

Maps: Where I’ll be at Baltimore Comic Con & SPX!

Including some of my comics friends including Rafer Roberts, the guys from Firetower Studios, Robert Wilson IV (my neighbor again!), Ben Towle and Rich Barrett & Henry Eudy (SPX neighbors!).

Ben’s running a table devoted to “Alphabet Press” including artwork from contributors to Animal Alphabet, Alphabeasts and Alphabooks.

At both shows I’ll have copies of BORDER CROSSINGS and DUE NORTH as well as the last two copies of THINK OF THE CHILDREN’s limited hardcover edition. I’ll also be selling my new handcrafted mini-booklets including excerpts from THE CABINET and PARTIAL INVASIVE. Finally I’ll have Alphabeasts prints and original art for sale.

These next two weeks are going to be crazy.

  7. AlphaBeasts Minicomic: An A-Z Bestiary of Old School D&D Monsters

I’ve been working most of the day on laying out this minicomic that I’m going to have for sale at SPX in just a few weeks. It’ll have all 26 of my D&D monsters I drew for the old AlphaBeasts project. B&W interiors w/ wrap-around color cover. I won’t know how much they’ll cost until I get the printing done, but hopefully something cheap—two dollars would be ideal.

Here’re a few sample spreads plus the cover.
